Lady Health Visitor (LHV) Program


Program Overview

Welcome to the Doctors Institute of Medical & Emerging Sciences (DIMES) — a premier institution committed to developing skilled female healthcare professionals through its Lady Health Visitor (LHV) Diploma Program. This comprehensive program is structured in accordance with the standards set by the Punjab Nursing Examination Board, Lahore, and is designed to equip aspiring Lady Health Visitors with in-depth training in maternal, child, and community health.

What Do LHVs Do?

Maternal Care:

Monitor pregnancies, assist in safe deliveries, and provide prenatal education.

Child Health:

Support infant and child health through immunizations, development tracking, and parental guidance.

Family Planning:

Educate women on contraceptive methods and reproductive health choices.

Community Health:

Promote hygiene, conduct awareness campaigns, and support public health initiatives.


Preparing You for a Career in Public and Community Health

The LHV program at DIMES offers a rich, interdisciplinary curriculum covering:

Science Foundation:

Subjects like Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology, Pathophysiology, and Pharmacology build a strong medical base.

Behavioral and Social Sciences:

Courses in Psychology, Sociology, English, Islamic Studies, and Pakistan Studies help develop cultural sensitivity and communication skills.

Maternal & Child Health Focus:

Antenatal & Postnatal Care, Child Development, Family Planning, and Nutrition are core areas.

Community Health Training:

Hands-on training in public health, outreach strategies, and community engagement.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Matriculation in Science (Biology) with a minimum of 45% marks
  • Minimum 50% score in the DIMES internal entry test
